Chair Lift

It is possible to combine the chair lift and the stairs lift into one. This is in fact a chair that is fixed onto moving stairs. This combination of the two mechanical devices is made to lift or take people from one place, or floor, to another. People who are unable to move on their own – such as the physically challenged, the old and the infirm, can be taken up or down stairs by placing them in a chair fixed onto moving rail. This type of chair that is fixed onto a lift, or moving railings, should not be confused with the chair lifts used by skiers on ski fields. The type of lift offers the following benefits:

1. Moving an older or disabled person up and down stairs.
2. Safer for the lifters.
3. Used as carriages. Can help to transport objects other than people.
4. Saves time.
5. Enhances the luxury of shopping centers.
6. Faster movement.

While designing the chair lifts, the problems of disabled or older people are given the highest priority and attention. A stairs lift is designed with the special soft start and stop mechanism. They have adjustable seat belts so the passenger can adjust their position on the chairs by changing the position of the seat belts. These chair lifts are providing fool-proof safety for those who need them.

There are different types of lifts available on the market. Some of them are mentioned here, for example: straight rail, curved rail, outdoor, pre-owned, goods, and wheelchair platform stair lifts. You can get this combination of the stair and chair lifts equipment from the market. Since stairs lift are available and affordable it makes sense to go procure one if you have an aged, infirm or physically challenged person in you care.

Maybe It’s Time For A Stair Chair Lift

There comes a time in some people’s lives when the simplest of tasks becomes incredibly difficult, tasks that most of us take for granted.  Washing your hair, getting up from a chair, even climbing up the stairs: eventually gravity takes it’s toll, and sometimes gravity wins!  For those living in a home with stairs, the feeling can be almost suffocating:  imagine not being able to walk upstairs because it’s too difficult, or being afraid to walk downstairs for fear of falling.  If that sounds like someone you know, maybe it’s time to consider a stair chair lift.

A stair chair lift is a home improvement device that is basically a chair hooked up to a track that is then bolted to a staircase.  The chair then moves up and down the stairway at the user’s will – while most people prefer to simply sit in the chair lift, it can also be used as a transportation device, transporting cargo up and down stairs.  Bringing laundry and luggage up/downstairs are also common uses for a stair lift.

When asked, most buyers respond the number one reason to buy a stair chair lift is peace of mind.  Stair lifts provide a safe, easy way for your loved ones to go from one floor to the next with very little risk of injury.  However, what’s not commonly talked about is the psychological impact of installing a chair lift: for someone who is used to being able to walk up and downstairs on their own, difficulty climbing stairs is demoralizing.  Adding a stair lift will instantaneously improve their spirits, and you may be surprised at what the extra energy can do for someone.

Unfortunately, stair lifts are not cheap.  Basic installations will generally run ,000 – ,000.  If you got a spiral staircase that extends 4 floors, well then you should probably expect to pay more than that.  However, when looking at the alternatives stair lifts are a bargain.  You could restrict access to only downstairs, add an elevator, or worst yet: move.  When put in context, a stair lift becomes a much better option even after factoring in cost.  Unfortunately, medicare will not help cover the costs of a stair lift.

Buying a stair lift is a big decision for any family, both in terms of cost and importance.  However, a stair lift is an investment, one that will enable loved ones to live at home.  If family is important to you, maybe it’s time to take a closer look at stair chair lifts.

Chair Lift For Stairs | Things To Consider Before You Buy A Chair Stair Lift

Posted in Chair Lift For Stairs on June 1st, 2010 by Admin – Be the first to comment

In regards to prices with regard to chair lifts for stairs their is a wide range of difference between brands. The prices differ because of various reasons. A few of the reasons are the model or brand of stairway lift you want, along with the shape and style of stairway you already have got at your residence.

Prices of chair lifts for stairs will also fluctuate based on whether one will get some type of monetary aid from the government or other. Furthermore, many opt for a second hand or refurbished model compared to a brand new stair lift. After a little bit of careful research it is safe to say that investing above $2,500 will be typical for a basic straight stairway lift. On the other hand, plan on paying in excess of $10,000 for people with curved stairways and you are having the lift installed by a professional.

This is a major decision which is why you ought to carefully shop around and review manufacturer prices. Once again from my research this is a complicated purchase decision since most manufacturers are not always willing to provide you with a price estimate over the telephone. You will find a number of obvious reasons for this. First, they need to evaluate your needs to consider what stairway lift might be best suited for you. Second, they have to figure out the size and shape of your stairs as well as determining whether or not they’ll do the unit installation.

If I were to provide you with some advice on how to handle this situation, it would be this: Attempt to get the vendor to give you a “ballpark” range based upon your situation and needs. If they’re unable to supply you this number, then simply move on to the next manufacturer.

One of the best methods to try to lower your lifts for disabled price is to find and purchase a used or refurbished one. A few of the ideal places to check are by asking the manufacturers themselves, classifieds, as well as auction sites like Ebay.com. If, however, you decide to go this route then negotiating a warranty with your purchase is highly advisable. This way you can get some security of your chair lift for stairs purchase if for whatever reason something happens to it.

Another option you might want to consider is renting a stairway lift. This might very well be a fantastic choice if your manufacturer will support this option. So, by now you are probably all anxious because these things are pricey. However, research has told me that these companies are flexible on how you finance your purchase. Some options might be by refinancing your house or several other loan arrangements.

It is unfortunate, but I’ve not found many agencies or subsidies that grant funding for this kind of purchase. That being said, it does not hurt to ask your insurance provider if they cover some of the cost of a chair lift for stairs.

Chair Lift On The Way To Paralympics

I would rather die in my sleep. PEACEFULLY! Instead of falling of the chairlift… You hear me? Alright, so four people (including me) are on the chairlift at Whistler to go watch PARALYMPIC ALPINE SKIING! We’re really excited, plus the chairlift is so exciting because of the wonderful view… and well… we’re just all crazy. We had to walk down a ski hill, and then take a bus (specially, awesomely, just for the XXI Winter Olympics) and after that we ran by the creek up to the chairlift. All the Olympic/Paralympic decorations were really nice and it was really fun because of everything that day… (SKIING!) Today was one of the best days, of skiing and in my life? I will never forget today. Ooh and on the gondola (not the one shown in the video) we all decided to scream as loud as we could on the count of 3 and we did indeed, scream very loud and even the people in the gondola car next to us heard. In total our group went on four chairlifts… and we loved them. especially the downloading chairlift after the Paralympic alpine skiing, with my stomach at my brains. Feeling bad for the ski groups who didn’t go to watch the Paralympic skiing. It was REALLY REALLY REALLY cool, despite the burning sun. Canada was winning… but eventually (GRR) USA got in the way… And negative 4 degrees? More like 20 degrees. The whole while back on the bus, I was sad… WANTED MORE SKIING! At least we’re going again next Thursday?
